Often, in the clutter and scatteredness of our daily lives, our souls become a bit dry and impenetrable. Understanding this, Jesus invites His disciples to cultivate their inner lives, allowing the rich, fertile soil hidden beneath the surface to be exposed and made ready to receive the good seed of His word to us.
Cultivaré is intended to be a series of contemplative and evocative writings that help 'turn the soil' of daily life, encouraging a posture of openness and receptivity with God. My hope is that they might somehow help nurture an inner environment into which the Living Word himself can find a place to germinate, send out roots and break ground in new places of life and fruitfulness.

In offering a subscription, my intention is not to burden you or add to the clutter of your inbox. I have nothing to sell. But here it is: I love exploring the sacred metaphors hidden in scripture and in our everyday lives. So if these reflections bring you something fresh or evocative, then let it be part of a rich dialogue between you and I. Maybe this can be a meeting place where we come and "break bread" together. Thank you for taking the time.
